About products and suppliers

A jaw crusher machine is a popular piece of equipment in both the ore and mine processing industries. Jaw crushers are compression machines that crush hard materials (usually rock or stone) between a single moving piece of steel and a stationary piece. Jaw rock crushers are used for both primary and secondary size reduction, as well as other applications.

How Do Jaw Crusher Machines Work and What Are They Made of?

The jaws of a jaw crusher are made of cast steel that's been fitted with replaceable liners. These liners are made from manganese steel or alloyed cast iron. Hard liners protect the jaws of the machine from wearing away and minimize energy consumption during the crushing process. Hard liners on a jaw crusher machine prevent the jaws from becoming misshapen or deformed near the surface where the steel comes in contact with the rock or ore material.

Jaw crushers work by crushing materials like rock, stone, and ore between a single fixed jaw and a moving jaw. The feed experiences repeated pressure as it passes down through the machine, gradually getting smaller in size. It eventually becomes so small that it easily passes out of the crushing chamber at the end of the machine.

The Different Types of Jaw Crushers for Sale

Not all jaw rock crushers for sale are the same size or perform the same functions. Depending on the industry, size, and capacity, different machines are better equipped to perform different tasks. For example, mini jaw crushers and small jaw crushers are best for small-scale jobs and are commonly used in milling operations. These jaw crusher machines can accommodate ore between 3 inches and 5 inches in size.

Mobile jaw crushers and portable jaw crusher machines are also compact in size, yet powerful. These machines can easily be transported from one job site or facility to another. The breaking surface of these jaw crushers includes a fixed jaw and a movable, swinging jaw. As materials are fed through the stationary plate, the jaw exerts a force great enough to break them. Portable jaw crushers for sale are often mounted on a chassis with wheels and moved from job to job using a tractor.
