About products and suppliers

A cement mixer truck transports ready-mixed concrete to a job site. It is also known as an agitator truck, cement truck, or transit mixer. Mini cement mixer trucks are built on conventional truck chassis, with the mixing drum and mechanics supplied by a specialized business. The spinning mixing drum keeps the concrete from hardening while in transit. It is equipped with blades that agitate and direct the substance. Rotate one direction and it stirs the mix by pushing it deeper into the drum (this is known as 'charging'); rotate the other way and it brings the concrete to the chute.

What are the features of cement mixer trucks?

The drum in cement mixer trucks revolves at a rate of 1-3 revolutions per minute, but it can go faster. PTO (engine power is converted to hydraulic power, which is subsequently turned to mechanical energy to revolve the drum) or an auxiliary engine powers the drum. A large concrete truck can usually transport 6-9 cubic meters of concrete. To prevent exceeding the road's limit axle loads, most concrete cement mixer trucks run in an 84 configuration (2 steers, 2 drive) or a 64 configuration (1 steer, 2 drive). On projects with limited access, small cement mixer trucks with capacities of up to 2.5 cubic meters are used. They are smaller and taller, lighter, and have two axle sets.

How do cement mixer trucks work?

A conventional cement mixer truck in action can be loaded with dry components and water, with mixing taking place during transportation, or it can be loaded with mixed concrete. The drum rotates as the truck is traveling to keep the concrete stirred and therefore liquid until it is ready for delivery to the appropriate site. A multi-purpose blade is housed within the drum. The spiral-shaped blade runs the length of the drum's interior. The blade agitates and mixes the concrete as it rotates into the drum's base. When the drum is rotated in the opposite direction, towards the aperture, the spiral operates as an Archimedes screw.
